I recently attended the National Conference for Mocha Moms Inc and I can’t find any words to describe how memorable the event was for me. Mocha Moms Inc is a support group for mothers of color who have chosen not to work full-time outside of the home in order to devote more time to their families and communities. Mocha Moms serves as an advocate for those mothers and encourages the spirit of community activism within its membership. I am an advocate for any group that supports moms as we need it:)
I spent four days being surrounding by nothing love, education, networking and of course partying. Mocha Moms Inc set out to deliver a quality program and the members gladly received it.
Never have I been to a conference that afforded the opportunity increase my awareness of Breast Cancer( Susan G. Komen), schedule in room massages (Just 1 Touch), Learn some great Financial Options (Wells Fargo), preview a great television show, pre-screen a movie, The Help , meet and talk with Gail Perry- Mason Co-author of “Girl, Make Your Money Grow”, Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, Head of the Environmental Protection Agency and Amy Chua, author of ”The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mom” …..This does not include the great classes that were offered at Parent Nation and the connecting.
If you are a mom, I urge you to check out Mocha Moms Inc as you will not regret it.
