As a mommy I feel it’s my duty to ensure our family has types of experiences that become family memories forever. Although I had tons of other things to work on, including but not limited to mymommysneighborhood, I stopped it all to have a family outing.

One of the non-profits I am affiliated with allowed us to have a special day together not too far from our home. We literally played for over 5 hours straight. But when small breathers were needed there was endless hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, corn, cotton candy,funnel cakes, water, iced tea, soda and snow cones. I am worried, as we are on our way home, that there will be some sick bellies in the house tonight.

There were also several activities for us to do, but the best part was simply that we were together for so long without any distractions. I realize that just through normal day to day activities we are separated for the majority of the day. Therefore when the weekend comes, I’m ready to be out and together all day long. Unfortunately being at home can be distracted by the phone, toys, tv and of course the Internet. But my family is just too important to me to allow those things to keep us apart.

I hope that we can have more opportunities to do just what we did today. To just be a family.
