You Don’t Eat What?

For as long as I can remember, I was never caught without candy or something sweet in hand. In 1995, I was officially given the name “Sweet Tooth” and  I recently revealed to friends  that I try to stay away from the sweet devil and they were in complete shock. Many flat out did not believe me:) I will admit that every now and then I will have something small but nowhere close to what I use to consume on a daily basis. The question now is “You Don’t Eat What?’

Have you realized that sugar contains no nutrients and your body stores it as fat. I think I have enough fat on my body as it is.  I am saying goodbye to unnecessary calories as I strive to get back to my pre-mommy weight.

Are you ready to say goodbye?

The Clock is Ticking

My journey continues and I have truly been making certain to have the chance to catch up with some old and new friends. When I started blogging, I never realized that I would rarely get to see the people that actually followed the blog  or that I followed. I guess, I  never expected anyone to read and/or care what I had to say. I am glad that I quickly found out that people do care and will respond. I was even more excited when I stumbled upon a local group of bloggers. They have been a great resource. Joey Fortman, A Real Mom in the Media, with Ben 95.7 FM has been a great ear and also great host to many events. Recently she invited me and some friends to join her at Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia. I had never been to the casino and was glad I went. The food, drinks and company were wonderful. I had a great time as I listened to the Steel Drums and danced to Island music. The location is perfect, bright, welcoming and most importantly offers free parking.  I plan to visit the Casino again with some of my girls for a night out.

I was hoping to win the Caribbean trip offered by Apple Vacations as it would have made a great early birthday present. I guess I did not wish hard enough or maybe I was just being greedy as I was preparing to leave for Jamaica….Hey Mon!

We’re Back!

We decided right before Thanksgiving that we needed to refocus on what we were doing. The break took longer than expected but it was wonderful. While we don’t make New Year Resolutions we do spend some meaningful days reflecting on the year ahead. This year marks a big one for me as I will turn 40 years old. It was so funny when I announced my 40 days to 40 on my facebook page. So many of my friends were surprised that I had not only truthfully announced my age but that I was about to be 40. I plan to embrace it with the style and grace it deserves. I will not look back on what I did not accomplish but celebrate all that I did.

My celebration includes a spiritual renewal, revival and refreshment. I am excited about this journey and I hope you will join me.
