Do teachers need to be saints?

Facebook connects the world. It uses the old concept of 6 degrees of separation. But what we fail to realize is some of those degrees of separation need to be maintained. Recently teachers are getting fired or receive some type of disciplinary action for posting how they feel about their school or students on facebook. Any other person in any of profession would just be ignored, but for a teacher they must be beyond reproach. It is a bit ridiculous.

The thing we miss is that freedom of speech that things like facebook gives us the chance to make things better. So if a teacher rants about how bad their kids are, maybe the parents and the administration need to figure out why. Firing a teacher is not going to make the kids behave better. It could even make them act worse. So we either have to hold everyone to a higher standard or just let it go.

Could you lose your child?

Children go missing every day.  As a mother, the thought of arriving at a school and no one knowing where my kids are makes my eyes tear.   Yet I know this happens on a regular basis.  We all know that the maternity ward is the only place where they do more to ensure the right child is where they are suppose to be.  But that only happened because babies were lost.  Knowing your own child, how far do you think they could get before someone noticed they were missing.

With the threat of losing our own children and no additional safety controls by schools, we must take action in our own hands.  The National Center for Missing and Exploited children has great safety tips that we should all review with our children constantly. Click here for more information.

Ain’t No Sunshine…

Every time i see the sun, i never imagine on any given day i could lose it….

Every blinding ray, i feel the warmth and can’t imagine that i could miss it…

I did not know how important that sun was, because i was just so used to it…

NOW my days are the Peace that God promised….

NOW my nights are the Love that God requires…

NOW my thoughts are the unselfish commitment that God demands…

Ain’t No Sunshine, it is an unselfish committed mother for my children…

Ain’t No Sunshine, it is a friend’s willingness to be strong than any obstacle…

Ain’t No Sunshine, it is a loving woman, that married me 9 years ago today…

I LOVE YOU!
THANK YOU!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Love, Sy
